It was an interesting experience when we went to the UW drama classroom today during class. Wasn’t sure what we were doing there or what it was about but the first half was pretty weird. Although I didn’t get to stay the whole time can anyone fill me in on what you guys did the rest of the class?
It was lots of fun. After we did those warm ups and stuff, which really helped us to relax, we did improve stuff. One of the things was someone read a piece from the text and the students moved the way the text made them feel. The part read was about Sherman Alexie liking to draw because everyone can understand that a picture of a flower is a flower, and a lot of the students began to draw in their own way. Some painted, some drew, and a few just thought about the idea. After that we did another one, where some of English students joined in, where instead of text it was music. We were to use the emotions that we had during the book to create a picture for the audience. It was fun. After that we did another game which is hard to explain. At the end we talked about stereotypes for a long time and about the projects each class has going on.
